Farm City Banquet
Last week, November 10, Kiwanis' annual Farm City Banquet dinner took place at the Penns Valley Christian Retreat.  The club had a great showing in our support for local businesses and farmers.  Here is a picture from the event, though not all Kiwanians can be easily seen.  What is apparent is the good time we

August 4th, 2009

Tonight we had the distinct honor of adding two new members to the club.  New member, Dennis Knoble (middle), is inducted into the club.

Here, Barb Harer accepts a warm welcome from Joe Cannon.  Barb transferred from the Phillipsburg club to Lewistown.

We are absolutely excited to have both new members in the club.

Tonight we found ourselves the recipient of another mystery gift from a mystery club member.  Bob Richard won the prize and shows it to the club.  They are Lady Lion basketball player bobbleheads.  Congratulations, Bob!

July 14

Meeting Notes: July 14, 2009

At tonight's meeting, we presented a $1000 check to the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata.  This is an annual tradition which was in place well before the Kiwanis Club President, Don Mulvihill, happened to be married to the United Way director, Marie Mulvihill.

Also at tonight's meeting was a mystery gift (mysterious because it's donor was a secret as well as the contents of the gift) was raffled off.  Check out our photos section of the website to see who won.

Jamie White of 4H Club Speaks at Weekly Meeting

Jamie White with the 4H Club was the guest speaker at tonight's weekly Kiwanis meeting.  Jamie updated the club on the status of the camp which Kiwanis donated to 4H decades ago (see it on Google Maps).  Jamie showed us pictures (some new, some from recent years).

We Kiwanians thank Jamie for coming out tonight.  His presentation helped ramp us up for a renewed dedication by Kiwanis Club of Lewistown to help bring the camp back to good condition.

Jamie shows the Kiwanis Club the outside wall of the Mess Hall which is leaning outward due to heavy snow from the winter of 1993.  4H is considering tearing the hall down and rebuilding from the ground-up.

Here Jamie shows the Kiwanis Club the inside of the Mess Hall where heavy snow in the winter of 1993 damaged the roof and supporting walls.

You can see more photos of the 4H camp in our photos section.

Pancakes and Sausage at East Gate Feed & Grain

On an overcast, drizzly day, we Kiwanians were out at East Gate Feed & Grain serving up pancakes, sausage, and coffee to their much appreciated customers.  It was a great day to serve as most of the customers are farmers who couldn't be out in the field.

Check out the photos section of the website for more pictures:
